In a stern action against illicit activities, two individuals alleged to be notorious bovine smugglers were detained under the Public Safety Act in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, officials confirmed.
The suspects, identified as Raj Ali from Mantalai and Gulam Qadir from Ganshad, were incarcerated following the district magistrate's orders. The duo has a history of repeated involvement in bovine smuggling incidents.
Officials revealed that despite numerous complaints lodged at the Chenani Police Station and several warnings, the accused continued their illegal activities, causing concerns about communal harmony in the region.
