Assam's Chief Secretary, Ravi Kota, convened a comprehensive security review ahead of the Republic Day celebrations planned across the state. The discussion, which took place on Tuesday, included DGP GP Singh, senior officials, and district administrations, with a focus on ensuring the central programme at Khanapara, Guwahati is securely managed.

The key event will be held at Veterinary College Playground, Khanapara, graced by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, featuring ceremonial parades and cultural performances. Enhanced security measures, such as CCTV surveillance, ample lighting, and strict frisking protocols, will be implemented to guarantee safety during the celebrations.

Following recent security threats on Independence Day, intensified plans are in place involving Assam Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and the Army. Statewide security checks are being bolstered with SPs and enforcement agencies deploying robust systems, ensuring thorough inspections and readiness at all venues.
