The Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC) has issued a formal notice to the Khairthal-Tijara district collector and municipality commissioner following a devastating incident involving the mauling of a seven-year-old girl by stray dogs.
Justice G R Moolchandani, Chairperson of the RSHRC, demanded that a detailed report on the incident be submitted by January 31, along with measures to compensate the victim's family adequately. The Commission has condemned the incident as 'shocking' and accused authorities of failing to fulfill their legislative responsibilities effectively.
Although tenders for vaccinating and castrating stray dogs were issued, the municipality did not pursue the matter further, illustrating departmental negligence. Five girls from Kirwari village were attacked by a dog pack, with four escaping, while Ikrana succumbed to injuries later.
