The couple, Vishal and Sakshi Gawli, allegedly abducted the young girl from Chakki Naka, Kalyan, on December 23. After committing the crimes, they reportedly dumped the victim's body in Bapgaon. Police are investigating these allegations amid growing pressure on the legal system for justice.

Despite police efforts to extend their remand for further investigation, Judge VA Patravale denied the request, ordering a 14-day judicial custody instead.
