Anchal Rajbhar has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal rape and murder of an 18-year-old girl. The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Tripathi on Wednesday. Rajbhar, found guilty of the atrocious crime, was also fined Rs 20,000 by the court.

The horrific incident came to light three years ago when the girl's father lodged a report at the Ubhaon Police Station after her body was recovered from a pond. The police initiated a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrator.

Credit to diligent police work, Rajbhar was identified and arrested for his abhorrent actions. This sentencing brings a semblance of justice to the grieving family.
