Late-Night Chaos: Local Duo Arrested for Clashing with Police

A 23-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were arrested after obstructing police and damaging a vehicle in Palarivattom. The altercation followed complaints about the duo intimidating passersby with a knife. Police charged them under various sections for obstruction, mischief, and damage to public property.

A 23-year-old woman and her 27-year-old male friend were apprehended in Palarivattom on Thursday following an altercation with police officers responding to a public disturbance complaint.

The incident reportedly occurred around 12:30 am when the duo allegedly harassed passersby with a knifenear Palarivattom Samskara junction. Police intervention led to the male suspect's initial custody.

Amid resistance, the woman broke a police vehicle's window with her phone, causing damage worth Rs 15,000. The pair faces numerous charges, including obstruction, wrongful restraint, and mischief, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other relevant laws.
