In a significant drug interception, a man from Punjab has been apprehended at Kochi International Airport while attempting to smuggle approximately 16 kilograms of ganja. The event took place late Thursday, as reported by customs officials.

The Air Customs unit at Kochi managed to seize nearly 15.9 kilograms of cannabis from the passenger, identified as Balwinder Singh Negi from Ludhiana. The contraband was concealed in a bag upon his arrival from Bangkok on flight TG 347 at 11.09 pm.

An official statement confirmed the seizure, adding that a comprehensive investigation is being conducted to further explore the details surrounding the incident.
