Justice for Reena: Life Sentence in Gruesome Murder Case

A Pathanamthitta court on Thursday handed a life sentence with a Rs 2 lakh fine to Manoj Abraham, convicted of murdering his 35-year-old wife Reena in 2014. The horrific crime unfolded in front of their children after a domestic altercation escalated.

Judge G.P. Jayakrishnan ruled that the fine be given to the couple's children. Failure to pay could see Manoj serving an extra two years behind bars. An added sentence of one month with a Rs 500 fine was also imposed for wrongful obstruction.

The murder saw Manoj assault Reena in a fit of rage. Court proceedings drew heavily on witness statements, including testimonies from the children and circumstantial evidence. Over 25 witnesses testified, sealing the conviction.
