Calcutta High Court Clears Path for RSS Rally Amid Exam Concerns

The Calcutta High Court approved an RSS rally in Burdwan, West Bengal, despite government objections due to ongoing exams. The court mandated crowd size and volume control, as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will address the event. The ruling noted no exams are planned for the rally day.

The Calcutta High Court has given its conditional nod to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to organize a rally in Burdwan district on February 16, setting aside concerns raised by the West Bengal government.

The state police had initially declined permission for the event, citing that the use of loudspeakers could disrupt students appearing in the ongoing Madhyamik Pariksha, but the RSS filed a legal petition challenging this decision.

The court, presided over by Justice Amrita Sinha, allowed the rally to proceed, highlighting that there wouldn't be any scheduled exams on that particular Sunday. As a precaution, the organizers are required to manage the crowd size and keep the loudspeakers' volume within permissible limits.
