CBI's Appeal on 2G Case Acquittals Set for High Court Hearing

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is gearing up for a significant hearing at the Delhi High Court regarding its appeal against the acquittal of former telecom minister A Raja and 16 others in the infamous 2G spectrum allocation case.

Senior advocate Sanjay Jain, representing the CBI, has emphasized the need for a structured schedule of hearings due to the extensive records involved. This critical session is set for March 18, following the court's decision to delve deeper into the alleged financial discrepancies.

The CBI claims that the 2008 allocation of 2G licenses, conducted on a first-come-first-served basis, incurred a loss of Rs 30,984 crore to the national exchequer. This controversy had previously been the subject of intense scrutiny, culminating in the Supreme Court's rescinding of the licenses in 2012.
