Corruption Unveiled: SRA Surveyors Arrested for Bribery

Three private surveyors working for the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 in eastern suburbs. They demanded Rs 1 lakh from a resident to include his grandmother's hut in the survey. The complainant reported to the ACB, leading to the arrests.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested three private surveyors employed by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) for allegedly accepting a Rs 25,000 bribe. The incident occurred in the city's eastern suburbs, according to an ACB official.

Based on a complaint filed by a local resident, the ACB set a trap and caught the surveyors in the act on Friday. They were arrested immediately after taking the bribe, an official confirmed.

The surveyors, who work for a private company contracted by the SRA, demanded Rs 1 lakh from the complainant to include his grandmother's hut in an official survey. Unwilling to comply with the extortion demand, the man reported the matter to the ACB, resulting in the arrests.
