Israeli hostages Iair Horn, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Sasha Troufanov were freed from captivity in Gaza on Saturday. In return, Israel began releasing 369 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, following mediation efforts that helped prevent a collapse of the current ceasefire.

The exchange saw the three Israelis walked onto a stage with Palestinian Hamas militants, who displayed automatic rifles. The hostages were then transferred into the custody of Israeli forces. Shortly thereafter, a bus carrying freed Palestinian prisoners left Israel's Ofer jail, arriving in Ramallah to enthusiastic crowds waving Palestinian flags.

This swap, exchanging three Israelis for 369 Palestinians, eased concerns that the ceasefire might break before the end of the first phase of an agreement in effect since January 19. Relief swept through Tel Aviv, dubbed Hostage Square, as the Red Cross facilitated the hostages' return, showing the trio in relatively stable condition.
