Ukraine has announced it will not participate in this week's Saudi Arabia-based negotiations between the United States and Russia aimed at ending the war. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed the decision, citing a lack of prior knowledge about the discussions, during a video briefing from the United Arab Emirates, where he is currently on a state visit.
Zelenskiy emphasized that Ukraine considers any talks on its future without its involvement to be ineffective and unacceptable. "We cannot recognize any agreements about us without us," he declared, underscoring Ukraine's stance on the matter.
The President also noted that he plans to visit Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, potentially signaling a diplomatic effort to engage in alternative dialogues concerning Ukraine's future.
