The United States and Russia have embarked on a preliminary diplomatic effort to alleviate existing tensions and potentially pave the way to peace in war-torn Ukraine, according to a recent statement from the State Department.
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce highlighted that early discussions have commenced to address 'irritants' affecting U.S.-Russia relations. Despite being a small step, these discussions aim to establish a framework to resolve the conflict.
In a statement following meetings in Saudi Arabia, Bruce asserted, 'One phone call followed by one meeting is not sufficient to establish enduring peace,' underscoring the necessity for continuous diplomatic engagement.
