Newly elected Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with her Council of Ministers, will convene a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department and the Delhi Jal Board this Friday. The focus will be to assess the condition of roads and the water supply throughout the capital.
Gupta announced outside her residence on Friday morning that Thursday's first Cabinet meeting had approved the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. This scheme aims to extend its benefits promptly to the public, particularly aiding senior citizens.
The new administration is striving to address longstanding infrastructure issues such as pothole-laden roads and inadequate water services, which were criticized during the elections. This comes after the BJP's critique of the previous AAP government for these failings.
Rekha Gupta and her Council of Ministers were sworn in at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
