A Delhi court is set to announce its decision on February 25 regarding the sentence of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, implicated in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
During the court proceedings, a complainant, who lost her husband and son in the violence incited by Kumar, appealed for the death penalty to be imposed on the former Congress Member of Parliament.
Represented by senior advocate H S Phoolka, the complainant argued that Kumar's actions were tantamount to genocide and warranted the harshest punishment. The court has directed Kumar's counsel to submit their defense in writing within the stipulated two days.
