The Supreme Court has revisited its previous directive for a rapid investigation into MLA Abbas Ansari under the Gangsters Act, opting instead to examine if any inquiries remain open.
This decision follows senior advocate Kapil Sibal's assertion that the investigation is complete, with a chargesheet already filed. The Court set March 6 for further hearings after reviewing arguments and conflicting information presented in affidavits by the state.
The case involves accusations against Ansari for gang operations in Chitrakoot district. The bench will reassess the bail plea following the state's next status report on the investigation's progress.
