Delhi's Crime Crackdown: 51 Arrests in Early 2023

In early 2023, Delhi Police arrested 51 individuals for offenses including robbery, burglary, and violations under various acts. Notably, 12 arrests were made under the Arms Act, while significant preventive measures were enacted under multiple legal sections aiming to curb crime.

This year, a total of 51 individuals have been arrested by Delhi Police for various offences, an official disclosed on Friday. The arrests were made for crimes such as robbery, snatching, burglary, and violations of the arms act.

According to the police data, 12 individuals faced charges under the Arms Act, 10 under the Gambling Act, and eight each under the Excise Act and snatching offences. Moreover, seven arrests were linked to auto lifting, four under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with one arrest each for robbery and burglary up to February 21 of this year.

The authorities have undertaken 1,209 preventive actions this year under various sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 1,194 under the Delhi Excise Act, and a notable 15,396 actions under the Dowry Prohibition Act, the statement further detailed.
