In a tragic turn of events, a 55-year-old street vendor named Dayaram lost his life after a single punch during an argument in Delhi's Shahdara, officials reported on Friday.

The altercation occurred between Dayaram and 23-year-old Shadab on Wednesday in the Makkhi Sarai area. Shadab, now in custody, reportedly struck Dayaram in the face, causing him to fall unconscious.

Efforts to save Dayaram failed as he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Authorities have charged Shadab with culpable homicide following his arrest.
