In a recent assembly session, Uttar Pradesh's Minister for Home Guard, Dharmveer Prajapati, revealed a significant shortfall of 44,927 home guard positions in the state. This was in response to inquiries from Samajwadi Party's Sachin Yadav.

Prajapati detailed that while there are 1,18,348 approved home guard positions, only 73,421 are currently filled. He emphasized that recruitment is conducted as requirements arise.

Sachin Yadav pressed further on the frequency of vacancies and highlighted the issue of low salaries, noting the implications for the department's performance. Prajapati responded by outlining salary hikes and uniform improvements implemented in recent years.
