Crypto-Fueled LSD Network Busted: Photographer Arrested in Gurugram

Mohammad Shahbaz from Kolkata was arrested in Gurugram for allegedly procuring LSD via cryptocurrency from an international source. Officials discovered 2.7 grams of LSD disguised as children's tattoos. The drugs were meant for local parties, and further investigations are underway to uncover international links.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Gurugram police has arrested Mohammad Shahbaz, 27, from Kolkata on charges of procuring LSD via cryptocurrency from an international source. The arrest took place on Wednesday in Sector 43, officials reported.

Shahbaz was allegedly staying in a paying guest accommodation in Delhi's Saket area. During the arrest, 2.7 grams of LSD disguised as children's tattoo stickers were seized in the presence of a gazetted officer. Sub-Inspector Karamjit, leading the Anti-Narcotics Cell, stated that Shahbaz admitted to ordering the drugs through the portal Bioness using a TOR browser.

An FIR under NDPS Act Section 22(c) has been registered, signaling the beginning of further investigations. The case sheds light on the rising trend of LSD use among Indian youth, particularly at rave parties. Shahbaz, a Delhi-based photographer, has been remanded to four days in police custody as authorities probe his international connections.
