Illegal Cattle Transport Bust on Maharashtra Highway

In Maharashtra's Palghar district, police have registered a case against two individuals for transporting cattle without a valid permit, in violation of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

A patrolling team, conducting routine checks on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, intercepted a tempo late Tuesday night. Upon inspection, they discovered 14 buffaloes and calves cramped inside the vehicle, lacking sufficient fodder and water provisions.

The authorities promptly seized the transported animals and the vehicle. Despite this action, no arrests have been reported in connection with the incident.
