Accused Trio Faces Charges in Maharashtra Sexual Harassment Case

Three individuals have been accused of sexually harassing a 19-year-old woman in Thane district, Maharashtra, according to police reports on Saturday.

The case, initiated by a formal complaint, involves allegations under section 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty), section 75 (sexual harassment), and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as stated by an official.

Authorities report that on Wednesday, the accused trio, who had an existing dispute with the woman, visited her residence in Dombivili town. One allegedly restrained her from behind while another inappropriately touched her and verbally abused her. Although a police probe is underway, no arrests have been made so far.
