In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement, Jharkhand police have apprehended Anil Bhuiyan, a key figure in the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), from the Palamu district. Bhuiyan, aged 35, has been evading capture for nearly seven years due to his involvement in Maoist activities, according to police reports.

The arrest occurred Friday night in the Ghasidag area under Vishrampur police station's jurisdiction. Acting on crucial intelligence about Bhuiyan's presence in the area, police executed a precise operation to capture him as he attempted to meet his family. Vishrampur's police station in-charge, Saurav Kumar, confirmed the arrest.

Bhuiyan, who held the position of self-styled area commander, led an attack against the police in a 2018 encounter in Mohammadganj. This arrest is considered a major success in the ongoing battle against Maoist insurgency in the region.
