BJP Blames Kerala LDF Government for ASHA Workers' Payment Delays

The BJP accused the Kerala LDF government of deflecting responsibility for unpaid honorariums to ASHA workers onto the Centre. BJP spokesperson Anil Antony claimed that the Union Ministry released ample funds to Kerala, calling the state's diversion tactics a cover for its inefficiencies.

On Saturday, the BJP criticized the LDF government in Kerala for allegedly shifting the blame to the Centre regarding unpaid honorariums for ASHA workers. According to BJP national secretary Anil Antony, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has disbursed significant funds to the state, exceeding allocated amounts.

The controversy follows Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal's claim that payments have stalled due to the Centre's failure to provide necessary funds. The state's ASHA workers have been protesting, demanding outstanding incentives and honors be paid.

Antony asserted that Kerala's government uses these claims to mask its own inefficiency, emphasizing that the BJP's 'double-engine government' could resolve such issues, ensuring comprehensive development in Kerala.
