The Israeli military has confirmed the release of the sixth and final hostage by the militant group Hamas. The individual, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, is believed to be Hisham Al-Sayed, a 36-year-old Bedouin Israeli with a history of mental health issues.

Al-Sayed reportedly entered Gaza independently in 2015 and has been held captive since then. The other five hostages were released earlier on the same day, during ceremonies that have drawn criticism from both Israel and the Red Cross.

In total, 25 Israeli hostages have been freed following a ceasefire agreement. The last release took place without ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
