A video depicting a 45-year-old man's collapse during a Jago ceremony in Jalandhar sparked rumors he was shot. Authorities later revealed the man, identified as Paramjit Singh, died of a heart attack, not a bullet wound.
Paramjit Singh, whose wife serves as the sarpanch of Chak Desraj village, was attending the pre-wedding event when he collapsed. His spouse informed the Deputy Superintendent of Police that no bullet had struck Singh; rather, he suffered a fatal heart attack. Despite rumors fuelled by social media, authorities verified the account with medical professionals.
Police confirmed Singh was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital, where no evidence of a gunshot wound was found. This clarification comes amidst plans to pursue a case against the individual responsible for the celebratory gunfire.
