Key CPI (Maoist) Leader Arrested in Joint Operation

The Kerala Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested Santhosh Coimbatore alias Ravi, a key Maoist operative involved in multiple UAPA cases. Santhosh played a significant role in armed revolutionary activities across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. His arrest follows years of coordinated operations by law enforcement agencies in the region.

The Kerala Anti-Terrorist Squad, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu’s Q-Branch, successfully apprehended a pivotal CPI (Maoist) operative in Hosur on Saturday.

The suspect, identified as Santhosh Coimbatore, also known as Ravi, stands accused in approximately 45 cases under the UAPA, according to police reports.

Active in the tri-junction areas of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, Santhosh has been a key player in Maoist activities reported since 2013. Despite a narrow escape in July 2024, the sustained efforts by various law enforcement agencies culminated in his eventual arrest.
