Notorious Arms Supplier Nabbed: A Crackdown in Delhi

Delhi Police have arrested Bhola Shankar, a pivotal member of the Baba Safidon gang, involved in illegal arms supply and various criminal activities. Arrested in Mumbai, Shankar was plotting to flee to Dubai. His capture addresses multiple cases in Delhi and Haryana, including a significant foreign currency heist.

The Delhi Police have achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Bhola Shankar, a key figure in the Baba Safidon gang, notorious for supplying illegal firearms. This development was announced on Monday.

Shankar, aged 26, was captured in Mumbai as he attempted to escape to Dubai. A resident of Haryana's Jind, he was implicated in five separate cases across Delhi and Haryana. His extradition to Delhi is now underway for further inquiries.

The police disclosed that Shankar and his gang were responsible for looting ₹7.5 lakh in foreign currency from a Delhi exchange office in February. Despite the arrest of two aides shortly after the crime, Shankar had evaded capture until a meticulous operation in Andheri East led to his detention. He had previously been arrested for illegal firearms possession but absconded, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued.
