Family Arrested for Assaulting Constable in Mumbai Footpath Eviction

Three family members were detained in Mumbai for verbally and physically attacking a police constable during a footpath eviction drive. Sonu Vijay Manodiya, Vijay Vallabh Manodiya, and Sunny Vallabh Manodiya were charged under legal provisions for assaulting and hindering a public servant's duties.

Three individuals from a family in Mumbai's Marine Lines area were taken into custody on charges of assaulting a police constable during a footpath eviction operation, according to law enforcement officials.

The altercation occurred in the Chandanwadi locality as the police were executing a directive to clear footpath encroachments. Constable Vijay Maruti Bhingardive was reportedly attacked by Sonu Vijay Manodiya, Vijay Vallabh Manodiya, and Sunny Vallabh Manodiya.

The trio allegedly battered the constable during an official operation around Chandanwadi and a nearby BMC school. They now face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault and impeding a public servant in the course of duty.
