Radicalisation Plot Unveiled: Aziz Ahamed Charged by NIA

The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against Aziz Ahamed for radicalising youth in Tamil Nadu and conspiring to establish an Islamic caliphate in India. The case involves the Hizb-ut-Tahrir organisation and aims to implement its anti-India ideology and constitution.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken decisive action by chargesheeting a man from Tamil Nadu, Aziz Ahamed, accused of radicalising young individuals and plotting to establish an Islamic caliphate in India, the agency announced.

The chargesheet, filed in the NIA special court in Poonamallee, Chennai, identifies Ahamed, also known as Aziz Ahmed and Jaleel Aziz Ahmed, as part of a larger conspiracy driven by the banned Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) terror organisation. The criminal scheme intended to propagate the group's anti-India ideology and enforce its founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani's constitution within India.

According to the NIA’s findings, Ahamed was involved in the recruitment of youth, referred to as 'daris' or students, into clandestine classes where they were radicalised. He worked alongside other accused and HuT members, aiming to establish an Islamic caliphate by enlisting military support from foreign entities hostile to India.
