The Delhi High Court has turned down a man's plea seeking an income tax probe into the financial affairs of his estranged wife's family. The individual claimed that his wife's family provided a dowry of Rs 2 crore and incurred substantial wedding expenses.

The court, led by Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, identified the petition as originating from a 'matrimonial feud.' The man's lawyer failed to substantiate the violation of any fundamental or statutory rights.

The man's request for a comprehensive scrutiny of alleged secret cash transactions and income records was deemed inadmissible under Article 226 of the Indian Constitution. The court dismissed the petition, labeling it an unwarranted 'roving and fishing inquiry.'
