Political Feud Ignites Over Nagarkurnool Tunnel Collapse

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for not visiting a collapsed tunnel site in Nagarkurnool, Telangana, where eight people are trapped. Opposition leaders dispute this, asserting ongoing rescue efforts and oversight. A judicial inquiry has been demanded to investigate accountability.

The collapse of a tunnel in Nagarkurnool district, Telangana, has sparked a political clash between BRS Working President KT Rama Rao and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. KT Rama Rao condemned the Chief Minister for neglecting to visit the site, where eight individuals remain trapped since February 22.

Rescue efforts are being spearheaded by teams from the Army, Navy, Rat Miners, and NDRF around the clock. Rao alleged that the government proceeded without consulting geological or engineering experts, resulting in jeopardized lives and an indifferent Chief Minister prioritizing election campaigns and trips to Delhi.

In defense, Telangana state Congress President B Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the Chief Minister has been actively monitoring the situation since it unfolded. He emphasized the deployment of ministers to oversee rescue operations and the hiring of experts from other states and abroad. KT Rama Rao further called for a judicial inquiry to identify those accountable and criticized the government for deflecting blame onto previous administrations.
