Kremlin Condemns Alleged Assassination Plot on Cleric

The Kremlin on Friday criticized an alleged assassination attempt by Ukraine on a senior cleric associated with President Vladimir Putin. Moscow claimed the plot demonstrated that Kyiv held nothing sacred.

Russia's FSB security agency detained two individuals, one Russian and one Ukrainian, suspected of conspiring to assassinate Tikhon Shevkunov. Shevkunov has been referred to by Russian media as 'Putin's confessor.'

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the 'Kyiv regime does not shrink from anything,' accusing it of having no sacred boundaries. Kyiv has yet to respond to these allegations.
