Kremlin Denies Western Sabotage Allegations
Russia dismisses Western claims of sabotage activities in the U.S. and Europe, labeling them unproven. The Kremlin responds to the U.S. halting anti-sabotage measures, with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mentioning the lack of evidence from investigations. Russia maintains its denial of involvement, despite accusations from NATO and the UK.
The Kremlin has rebuffed ongoing Western accusations that Russia is engaging in sabotage activities within the United States and Europe, categorizing these claims as "empty and ephemeral." This statement follows reports that the U.S. has halted some measures aimed at countering alleged Russian sabotage initiatives.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that no definitive evidence supporting the existence of such sabotage campaigns has emerged from investigations conducted in the U.S. and Europe. He suggested that the U.S. administration under President Donald Trump was merely eliminating "everything ineffective, corrupt, and implausible."
The U.S. and NATO have repeatedly accused Russia of targeting Western infrastructure through sabotage. British foreign intelligence head Richard Moore has accused Russia of a "staggeringly reckless campaign" in Europe. Recent court findings also implicated Russians in espionage activities linked to a fugitive Wirecard executive, which Moscow denies.
