On Monday, a GST deputy commissioner, Sanjay Singh, met a tragic end as he allegedly leapt from the 15th floor of his apartment building in Noida Sector 75. His family asserted that Singh was fighting depression, potentially driven by his cancer diagnosis, prompting the drastic action.
The event unfolded at the Apex Athena Society at approximately 11 am, as confirmed by KG Sharma, the Incharge of Sector 113 police station. Singh was employed with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department in Ghaziabad. Family members suggested that his ongoing battle with cancer played a role in his depression and subsequent death.
Authorities have sent Singh's body for postmortem, continuing investigations to piece together the full circumstances surrounding his death. Singh is survived by his wife and two sons, who are now grappling with this profound loss.
