On Monday, the Congress party criticized the AAP-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for its decision to halt crucial municipal projects and reduce funding in important sectors, leading to inquiries regarding financial governance and transparency. Congress councillor Nazia Danish highlighted a troubling portrayal of the civic body's finances and called out the AAP-led administration for shutting down 11 vital municipal schemes following a budget allocation. These projects were essential for the development of urban areas and affected residents across numerous regions.

Nazia Danish further accused the Delhi government of ending funds meant for transport development in 2021, and underscored the necessity for enhancing infrastructure in MCD schools. Demanding adequate resources, trained teachers, and improved educational facilities, she also proposed measures to tackle environmental concerns, such as dust pollution control and promoting green energy. Importantly, drainage management and the cleaning of the Yamuna were emphasized, reflecting broad dissatisfaction with the current state of urban management under AAP.

Narrating a decade-long decline in financial support for medical services under the AAP government, Danish insisted on several healthcare improvements, including staffing increases, essential medical supplies, and the introduction of telemedicine. She also urged modernization of Anganwadi centres for better maternal and child healthcare. Despite a substantial Rs 17,000 crore budget presented earlier this year, the civic body faces ongoing criticism and calls for strategic reforms.
