Japanese Trade Minister Yoji Muto held discussions in Washington on Tuesday, seeking exemption for Japan from impending U.S. tariffs.
Despite efforts, Muto reported that U.S. officials provided no guarantees of exemption ahead of the tariffs' implementation on Wednesday.
Muto emphasized Japan's intention to continue dialogues on economic cooperation, assuring the U.S. of Japan's commitment to contributing to its economic growth.
