In a dramatic police encounter on Tuesday, notorious gangster Aman Sao was killed in Jharkhand's Palamu district as his gang tried to liberate him from custody. The incident took place near Andheritola in the Ramgarh police station area.

This event occurred just a day after Jharkhand's Director General of Police, Anurag Gupta, highlighted concerns that many criminal conspiracies are being orchestrated from within jails across the state with assistance from gangs on the outside.

Aman Sao, also known as Aman Sahu, was being transferred from Raipur to Ranchi when his gang launched an attack on the police vehicle, leading to a gunfight that resulted in Sao's death and injuries to a police officer. State police are actively probing the prevalence of such operations running from inside prisons.
