Indian MP Gowaal K Padavi has called for the prohibition of the Chinese AI app DeepSeek, which he claims affronts national sentiments by ambiguously addressing the sovereignty of Arunachal Pradesh. Padavi urged the Ministry of External Affairs to issue a formal notice to China regarding the app's contentious responses.
During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Padavi expressed concern over DeepSeek's refusal to explicitly affirm Arunachal Pradesh as part of India—a stark contrast to its affirmative answers about other Indian states. He argued that such foreign technology has no place in India and suggested the development of indigenous AI solutions.
The government previously advised against using AI tools like DeepSeek over data privacy concerns. Additional parliamentary discussions included Kangana Ranaut's plea to tackle power outages in Himachal Pradesh and Dharmendra Yadav's advocacy for reinstating the old pension scheme.
