A 32-year-old man suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run that killed a man and seriously injured his wife has been apprehended, police confirmed on Tuesday.

The arrest came after a complaint by D Krishnan, the elder brother of the deceased D Narayanasamy. He reported that a car driver caused the accident that led to Narayanasamy's death. The Olakkur police in Villupuram district subsequently filed a case.

Video footage revealed the incident occurred on March 9, when a speeding car struck a two-wheeler near the Ongur bridge, killing Narayanasamy on the spot. His wife, Meena, is receiving treatment at Acharapakkam Government Hospital. The driver, identified as R Aravind from Chennai, was arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
