The Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has initiated legal proceedings against a senior executive of a Katra-based company and his associates, following allegations of defrauding several businessmen to the tune of nearly Rs 25 crore in the Union Territory.

Filed by Ravinder Kumar Gupta, the manager of Hind Agro Foods, the complaint accuses Rajeshwar Sabarwal and his accomplices of fraudulent activities. The executive, allegedly with others, misappropriated rice and pulses worth approximately Rs 4.30 crore under false pretenses involving Army supply deals.

The spokesperson for the Crime Branch reported that similar fraudulent schemes, valuing Rs 20-25 crore, were employed against other businessmen. Investigations are ongoing, with more victims coming forward to demand justice.
