The arrests involved the Managing Director of an online news channel, P Revathi, and reporter B Sandhya, linked to social media trolling against the ruling party.
These arrests provoked a political reaction, with BRS working president K T Rama Rao criticizing the Congress government. Rao questioned the suppression of journalists' voices in a public statement, highlighting concerns over freedom of speech and the Constitution.
The specific video in question featured an individual making derogatory comments about the Chief Minister.
