Amidst mounting criticism from the Youth Congress and the IUML, the Syro-Malabar Church in Kerala has expressed its steadfast support for BJP leader P C George. George has come under fire for his claims concerning the alleged 'love jihad' incidents in Meenachil Taluk.

The Syro-Malabar Church Public Affairs Commission reiterated that George's remarks on issues like drug trafficking and terrorist activities were fact-based. This was voiced at a Pala conference led by the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council's Temperance Commission. They called for a comprehensive probe into George's contentions by both central and state authorities.

The Church has condemned attempts to misconstrue his statements as religiously charged, labeling such efforts as regrettable. Advocating for a united stance against extremism, they stressed the importance of maintaining national security without associating such acts with religion or politics.
