In a courtroom twist on Wednesday, Indrani Mukerjea, central to the infamous Sheena Bora murder case, made a heartfelt plea to the special court. She sought clarification on whether her daughter, Vidhi Mukerjea, has been removed as a witness, which would allow them to reunite.
The appeal came a day after the CBI unveiled a slate of 69 witnesses, notably omitting Vidhi's name. Despite asserting their dedication to a brisk trial, CBI officials sidestepped the question of Vidhi's role in the proceedings. Expectations now hang on the prosecution's pending submissions, slated for Thursday.
Indrani's legal counsel, Ranjeet Sangle, highlighted the CBI's reticence on Vidhi's witness status. This uncertainty bars Indrani from meeting her daughter. 'I will die without being able to meet my daughter,' Indrani's submission poignantly concluded, underscoring the emotional and procedural quagmire faced by the court.
