Baloch Train Hijacking Ends with Hostage Rescue

Militants hijacked a train in Balochistan, killing 21 passengers and four soldiers. The army succeeded in a rescue operation, killing 33 militants and freeing remaining hostages. The Jaffar Express, en route from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by the Baloch Liberation Army, causing derailment and subsequent hostage-taking.

In a tragic turn of events, twenty-one passengers and four paramilitary soldiers lost their lives when militants seized a train in Balochistan, according to an army general. On Wednesday, Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif reported to Dunya News TV that security forces eliminated all 33 militants involved and ensured the safe rescue of remaining hostages.

The Jaffar Express, carrying approximately 400 passengers, fell victim to the attack as it journeyed from Quetta to Peshawar. Militants derailed the train using explosives near the mountainous regions of Gudalar and Piru Kunri, around 160 kilometers from Quetta.

The Baloch Liberation Army took responsibility for the assault, revealing that the operation claimed six soldiers' lives. Army forces conducted a successful rescue operation, securing the hostages' release and neutralizing the threat.
