Authorities in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, have prohibited large gatherings for namaz on rooftops to avert potential accidents. This measure comes amid ongoing tensions in the city following last year's violence at the Kot Garvi locality, ASP Shreesh Chandra confirmed on Thursday.
In preparation for 'Alvida' prayers, security plans include deploying adequate police forces under a structured sector and zone system. ASP Chandra emphasized traditional namaz inside mosques would proceed as usual, clarifying public safety concerns about crowding on rooftops and roads.
Despite queries on alternative prayer sites from the public, officials reaffirmed the continuation of established practices. SP MP Zia-ur-Rahman Barq's potential court move notwithstanding, authorities remain focused on maintaining order and preventing unnecessary risks.
