In an assertive move, the Czech-led ammunition initiative is set to supply Ukraine with the same amount of shells in 2025 as it did in the past year. Prime Minister Petr Fiala made this commitment following a summit in Paris with the Ukrainian president and other world leaders.
The initiative, which was launched and funded by several NATO allies, has already made significant contributions by providing Ukraine with 1.5 million artillery rounds in 2024, according to figures released by the Czech Defence Ministry.
This effort includes 500,000 units of 155mm shells and reflects a continued dedication to supporting Ukraine amid ongoing conflicts. The initiative cements the Czech Republic's role as a critical ally in bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities.
