Dramatic Arrest of Gurudwara Murder Accused After Escape Attempt

Sarabjit Singh, one of the accused in the high-profile murder of Baba Tarsem Singh, was apprehended in Punjab's Tarn Taran district, police officials reported on Thursday.

On the run since the March murder, Sarabjit faced a Rs 2 lakh bounty. During his transport to Udham Singh Nagar, a car accident facilitated an escape attempt. Sarabjit seized an officer's firearm, injuring a constable before police subdued him with shots to his legs.

Currently receiving medical treatment at Kashipur, Sarabjit is expected to appear in court soon. Meanwhile, injuries to several police personnel from the incident are also being treated, as noted by officials. The case previously saw Sarabjit's accomplice, Amarjit Singh, killed in a police encounter.
