In the wake of nationwide civil defense drills, Amritsar once again plunged into darkness early Thursday as part of a blackout rehearsal. The district administration urged residents to stay indoors and avoid panic during the exercise.
The drill commenced at 1:30 am, following an earlier session held from 10:30 pm to 11 pm, as authorities sought to prepare for emergencies.
This comes as Indian military forces carried out 'Operation Sindoor,' targeting terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
